This Portal provides an overview of data-related roles and responsibilities when choosing GeekHunter as your platform and explains GeekHunter's efforts to meet the values and requirements of Personal Data Protection standards.
LGPD
The General Data Protection Law (LGPD), Law no. 13,709, was enacted on August 14, 2018, with a main objective: to bring more security, privacy and protection to personal data (all information that allows to identify a person. For example: name, CPF, RG, address).
In order to achieve its objective, the LGPD regulates all operations carried out in Brazil involving personal data. From its collection, through storage, sharing, archiving, and, finally, disposal.
Data Definition
Personal data: Information related to the identified or identifiable natural person. For example: CPF, address, RG, contact information.
Anonymized Data: Data/information that does not allow the direct identification of a person. Where possible, choose to use this category of data.
Definition of Roles
Data Protection Officer - DPO: Responsible for the Processing of Personal Data, it is a novelty in Brazil from the LGPD. This professional is responsible for being the communication channel of the company when it comes to data protection and privacy. Every company is required to appoint someone to perform this function.
Controller: When a company is responsible for making decisions regarding the processing of personal data, technically it occupies the position of data controller by the LGPD.
Operator: When a company is only responsible for acting in the operational layer from the access to certain personal data, technically it occupies the position of data operator by the LGPD. With this, you must act on behalf of the controller of personal data.
As GeekHunter, in its Platform, defines what data will be collected, the period, sharing, etc., it is the Controller of personal data.
