Renderware

RenderWare was a popular game development engine and middleware, especially in the late 90s and early 2000s. It was known for its flexibility across different platforms, helping developers create games and simulations that could run on various game consoles, PCs, mobile devices, and arcade machines. RenderWare technology focused on rendering graphics efficiently while also supporting other aspects of game creation, such as physics simulation, audio processing, and AI scripting. The engine powered many successful titles, including those in the Grand Theft Auto series, before being phased out after its acquisition by Electronic Arts in 2007.
