📦 What is Hero and Lemonlight?


Hero’s the coolest product I’ve worked on in my >15+ year career. It even blows away my own startups I founded.

Getting from idea in your head to filming it on set is a massive challenge. Not only is there friction with your own creative process, but you need to keep teammates aligned, share drafts, loop in teammates for different roles, manage real world hurdles, and navigate client feedback. In the end, final deliverables often miss the mark between the original goal and what is the final video file.

This is what Hero solves. It’s an AI forward SaaS product that aims to transform the film and commercial industry. Our customers are professionals with a real budget, not grandmas making cat videos with Sora (RIP). Our users use Premiere Pro, not CapCut. And our customers are teams of creatives, producers, and talent working together on a common goal. Today, we’re focused on cracking the short form ad market. The future is end to end across all video creative.

Where most products are fighting in a red ocean for AI gen video, we harness the best models, sequence and chain them together with smarter prompting, and focus on the actual pain point of creative generation which is pre-production. Then, we’ll let the competition fight each other on “press button, get video” while we dominate the space of “press button, go to set” and “press button, get crew” and solve the core pre-production and production issues. We firmly believe that while AI will accelerate creative, it is the human in the loop with taste and teamwork that gets something from a B to A+. If you want to work on a product using the best image, text, and video models with workflows designed for real collaboration, this is it.

Lemonlight is our parent company, serving massive brands (Amazon, Walmart, etc) to local mom & pop services and having shipped >50k videos to date. With crew around the world, a pre-production team in the office, and a sound stage and studio we run, we have everything in-house that’s needed to go from project idea to completed video.


↗️ Why are we hiring?

We need a designer and product thinker to sit between the services and SaaS side of the company to help both get to market more effectively. We need someone who is a:

Designer — Produce high-quality brand creative across email, web, ads, and social. Evolve Hero's SaaS brand identity from the ground up and elevate Lemonlight's existing visual language.

Builder — Own the front end for lemonlight.com and herovideo.ai. Ship landing pages, site updates, and improvements in hours, not weeks. Framer, Webflow, or equivalent mastery required.

Experimenter — Design and launch conversion experiments on the marketing sites. Measure what moves activation and acquisition metrics, iterate fast, and document what you learn.

This person will own the outcomes for:

  • Collapsing the design-to-launch cycle from weeks to days
  • Owning brand creative in-house so iteration is continuous, not bottlenecked
  • Building Hero's SaaS brand identity from early stage to market-ready
  • Standing up a real experimentation practice on the marketing sites — hypotheses, tests, results, iteration

☑️ Requirements

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  1. Design Craft — Proven polished, on-brand creative across web, email, ads and social you’ve led on your own that led to measurable impacts. A top notch portfolio is the top criteria. We’d prefer great graphic designers over all other skills.
  2. Build & Ship — Proven ability to deploy to production from concept to shipment. Your portfolio should show us sites you’ve built and articulate what you did. Fluency in Framer, Webflow, Claude code to Vercel, Claude design, or equivalent required.
  3. AI-Native Workflow — Demonstrated ability to leverage leading AI tools beyond just core models (Claude, OpenAI, etc) and chain together tools to go to market faster.
  4. Autonomous Execution — Proven ability to self-manage from end to end, working from idea through scoping and design to deployment, and managing stakeholders along the way.
  5. Cross-Brand Fluency — Demonstrated comfort switching between multiple brand voices and design systems with fluency.
  6. LA Office - This role is in-person in LA, working directly face to face with key stakeholders, manager, and production teams. Remote applications not accepted.

👍 Nice to Have

While not mandatory, top candidates will demonstrate:

  • Framer mastery (not Wix/Squarespace-level building)
  • Experiments launched at scale (>10k users) with measurable impact and documented learnings
  • Multi-brand experience — maintaining distinct identities simultaneously
  • Video editing chops, especially deployed to web or in-product. Premiere Pro / After Effects a plus.
  • Familiarity with activation and acquisition metrics beyond landing page CVR, and can speak in product thinking and Reforge logic (activation, set up, habits, etc).
  • Performance marketing experience — ads you've launched, what worked, what bombed, what you learned
  • Video production background or fluency with industry terminology
  • Experimentation Mindset — Proven experiments launched to market with strong experimentation frameworks (primary metrics, variant controls, etc) that show measurable outcomes.

❌ Role is Not

We are not looking for:

  • UX designer only — This is not for mapping user journeys but rather for creating graphic assets.
  • Legacy tooling — If your workflow hasn't changed in the last two years, this isn't the right fit.
  • Strategist who hands off — You'll be executing, not writing briefs for someone else.

  5. Be Curious, not judgmental. Judgement and assumptions close doors. Humility and curiosity opens them.
  6. Everyone builds. Simple. Managers build. ICs build. Everyone ships. Everyone owns the outcomes of what they make.
