We are looking for a Java Specialist to work on the development, evolution, and maintenance of backend systems, contributing to the creation of robust, scalable solutions aligned with business needs.

The professional will be responsible for developing and maintaining Java applications, driving the architectural evolution of systems, building and integrating APIs, supporting technical decisions, and promoting software engineering best practices, quality, security, and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain systems using Java and ecosystem frameworks, primarily Quarkus and Spring Boot;
• Build solutions with a strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, and software engineering best practices;
• Actively participate in the evolution of existing systems and the development of new applications;
• Work in teams utilizing agile methodologies, with a focus on Agile Team Topologies;
• Contribute to the technical analysis of requirements, proposing solutions aligned with business goals and with a long-term vision;
• Develop and consume REST APIs, ensuring quality, security, and performance;
• Support technical definitions, architectural decisions, and code evolution, including refactoring, standardization, and reduction of technical debt;
• Promote quality practices such as code review, automated testing, and engineering discipline;
• Identify opportunities for improvement and drive end-to-end technical solutions;
• Support observability practices and maintenance of production environments.

Duties:

• Development and maintenance of Java applications;
• Implementation and maintenance of architectural patterns, such as Clean Architecture, layered architecture, and Hexagonal architecture, when applicable;
• Building and integrating services and APIs;
• Working with integrations and data/event pipelines, when applicable to the sensorization context;
• Version control and branch management using Git and Gitflow;
• Working with databases, including modeling, query development, and optimizations in a corporate environment;
• Participation in agile ceremonies and technical alignments;
• Identification of improvement opportunities and driving end-to-end technical solutions;
• Support for observability practices, including logs, metrics, and tracing;
• Working on production support and issue resolution.

Requirements:

• Solid experience, 6 to 8 years or more, in backend development with Java;
• Mastery of Java 11+, preferably Java 17+;
• Experience with Spring Boot and/or Quarkus;
• Strong mastery of Object-Oriented Programming, SOLID principles, and Design Patterns;
• Experience with service and microservices architecture, integrations, and APIs;
• Experience with software engineering practices, including automated testing (unit and integration), code review, clean code, and refactoring;
• Knowledge of API security, including OAuth2/JWT, error handling, performance, and resilience;
• Experience with Git and Gitflow;
• Experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and/or SQL Server, including optimization knowledge;
• Strong communication skills and ability to align business needs with technical solutions;
• Seniority to work autonomously, organize work, and contribute to unblocking deliveries.

Differentials:

• Experience with messaging and streaming, such as Kafka and RabbitMQ;
• Experience with observability tools, such as ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry;
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes;
• Experience with CI/CD and delivery pipelines;
• Experience in IoT initiatives, sensorization, telemetry, or real-time data integrations;
• AWS Certification;
• Knowledge and application of Generative Artificial Intelligence in software development;
• Experience with AI Coding tools, such as Cloud Code, Windsurf, Devin, and GitHub Copilot;
• Experience in creating AI agents for testing, development, and incident analysis.
