Profile Description
This professional is fundamental to the architecture, governance, and evolution of technology infrastructure solutions in Vale's mining operations in Brazil and Canada. The central mission is to lead the integration of traditional systems (SCADA, DCS, PLCs) with emerging technologies such as Industrial IoT, industrial cloud, and advanced automation, ensuring safe operations aligned with the global digital strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Governance and Architecture: Define and document OT architectures, ensuring alignment between industrial systems, IoT sensors, and integration with IT/Cloud.
- Solution Design: Design solutions for real-time control, monitoring, and analysis of industrial processes with high availability.
- Modernization: Lead edge/cloud integration projects, digital twins, predictive analytics, and cognitive automation.
- Cybersecurity: Implement global OT security standards (NIST, IEC 62443), vulnerability management, and response to industrial cyber incidents.
- Collaboration: Promote safe integration between OT and IT teams and collaborate with strategic suppliers to ensure system interoperability.
- Documentation and Training: Develop contingency plans, operational guides, and train technical teams in a culture of innovation and safety.
Essential Requirements (Hard Skills)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Industrial Systems, or related fields.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in SCADA, DCS, PLC, RTU, IoT sensors, and industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, Profibus).
- Integration and Cloud: Expertise in edge computing architectures, Industrial Big Data, and cloud platforms (Azure IoT, AWS IoT, or Google Cloud Industrial).
- Security: Solid knowledge of IEC 62443 and NIST frameworks.

- Technical and consultative leadership with negotiation skills in multicultural environments.
