Application Support

This position is for a Level 2 (L2) Application Support Engineer focused on the division of Precision Technology and Digital Agriculture.

The professional will work directly on the technical support of digital platforms connected to agricultural machinery (telemetry, fleet management, and real-time agronomic data). This is not traditional helpdesk support (hardware/OS), but engineering support for software, data, and cloud infrastructure.

Profile Summary

• What the person does: Ensures stability, resolves complex software and data issues (L2), and investigates root causes in two proprietary CNH platforms: VMS (fleet, dealership, and telemetry management) and FieldOps (farm management, maps, and agronomic data system).
• Main mission: Investigate critical incidents (stuck file processing, telemetry discrepancies, GIS mapping errors), create technical documentation/SOPs, monitor cloud application health metrics, and propose automations to prevent recurring issues.

Technical Details and Job Scope

1. Technical Investigation and Resolution (L2):
   • Analysis of logs, data flow, and root cause diagrams (defect trees).
   • Handling geospatial data and telemetry issues: missing map layers (missing layers), georeferenced boundary errors (boundary errors), field file processing failures, and database inconsistencies.
   • Use of tools such as GIS, FarmViewer, internal debug utilities, and analytical scripts.
2. Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:
   • Configuration of metrics, alerts, and dashboards in APM tools (such as Datadog).
   • Identification of failure patterns and development of scripts or automation routines (via traditional scripts or AI) for proactive resolution.
   • Documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and alignment with Level 3 / Product Engineering teams.

Essential Requirements vs. Differentiators

• Mandatory (Hard Requirements):
  • Advanced English: Frequent contact with global engineering teams and English documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree: Engineering (Computer, Software, Electrical, Agronomic with technical emphasis), Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Monitoring and Cloud: Experience with APM tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, or similar) and cloud concepts (AWS or Azure).
  • Analytical/Automation Profile: Ability to create scripts, automate repetitive routines, and read complex data flowcharts.
• Strong Differentiators (Nice to Have):
  • Knowledge of precision agriculture formats (ISOXML, Shapefile).
  • ITIL practices (incident and problem management).
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
