Senior Scrum Master (Data Projects)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Scrum Master to work on a strategic data platform migration project for a major financial institution, in partnership with the Project Manager and Tech Lead.

The challenge involves migrating from Cloudera on AWS to Google Cloud, with approximately 13,000 Spark and PySpark jobs and 2.5 PB of data. The role will be with a team of approximately 25 professionals, with monthly waves during 9 months of migration and 3 months of post-implementation.

The position is also open to people with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Conduct dailies, planning, reviews, and retrospectives for the migration waves.

Keep the board, tracking dashboard, and pace, quality, and deadline metrics up to date.

Identify, log, and remove impediments, escalating situations when necessary.

Coordinate the cadence of monthly waves, from preparation to production go-live.

Monitor client dependencies and proactively flag delay risks.

Support the Project Manager in the daily PMO and the weekly tracking report.

Facilitate communication between technical workstreams, business areas, and the Google Cloud team.

Drive continuous process improvement based on the metrics of each wave.

Requirements

Completed higher education in Technology, Administration, or related fields.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT.

At least 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Master.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in data projects, data engineering, or system migration.

Experience with teams of 15 or more professionals or multiple teams in parallel.

Availability to work 100% on-site in São Paulo.

Proficiency in Scrum and Kanban.

Proficiency in agile metrics, such as throughput, lead time, and burn-up.

Experience with agile management tools, such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.

Experience facilitating and tracking teams in data projects.

Nice to have: CSM, PSM II, or SAFe certifications; experience in financial institutions; basic cloud knowledge, preferably Google Cloud; and experience with projects with fixed scope and contractual milestones.
