About the role

We are looking for a Foreign Exchange Specialist to join PagBrasil's Finance team in Porto Alegre. This is an opportunity to work directly with foreign exchange operations, serve as the company's main liaison with the Central Bank, and build, from the ground up, the routines and governance of the foreign exchange area.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for closing and for international remittances;
  • Monitor bank balances in domestic and foreign currency accounts;
  • Select, negotiate, and approve banks and institutions authorized to operate in the foreign exchange market, defining commercial terms, operational limits, and spreads;
  • Draft, review, and formalize foreign exchange contracts with financial institutions;
  • Ensure regulatory, registration, and documentation compliance with domestic and foreign banks;
  • Serve as the company's main liaison with the Central Bank on foreign exchange matters, including registrations and responses to regulatory requests;
  • Perform and monitor the registration of foreign exchange operations in the Central Bank's systems (SISBACEN, RDE-ROF);
  • Post debit and credit orders related to fees and foreign exchange movements in merchant accounts;
  • Prepare and validate reports on foreign exchange operations;
  • Monitor communication with customers regarding account balances;
  • Monitor spread, fee, and tax rates for remittances and transfers performed;
  • Assess the company's foreign exchange exposure and propose hedging strategies;
  • Define and implement policies, processes, and internal controls for the foreign exchange area, building the sector's routines and governance from the ground up;
  • Define and monitor performance and cost KPIs for foreign exchange operations, reporting results to leadership;
  • Serve as a technical reference in foreign exchange for the Finance and Financial Operations areas;
  • Monitor regulatory changes, communicate impacts, and prepare necessary adjustments.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience in foreign exchange operations;
  • Advanced knowledge of the Brazilian foreign exchange market;
  • Advanced knowledge of Central Bank regulations applicable to foreign exchange, including the SISBACEN and RDE-ROF systems;
  • Experience drafting and formalizing foreign exchange contracts;
  • Experience assessing foreign exchange exposure and proposing hedging strategies;
  • Advanced Excel.

Preferred qualifications

The following preferred qualifications are not disqualifying:

  • Postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, International Relations, or related fields;
  • Prior experience in payment institutions, fintechs, or companies in the financial sector regulated by the Central Bank;
  • Advanced English.
