QA Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a QA Engineer to work on building and evolving engineering solutions focused on quality, reliability, and efficiency of staging environments. You will develop automations, tools, and processes that increase availability, traceability, and autonomy for Development and Quality Engineering teams.

The role is hands-on and turns operational and quality issues into scalable, measurable technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop health checks and automations for continuous monitoring of environment and application health.
• Create mechanisms to measure availability, downtime, stability, failures, and recovery time.
• Define SLIs, SLOs, and KPIs to track the evolution of environment health.
• Build dashboards and metrics to support data-driven decisions.
• Develop synthetic tests, smoke tests, and automated validations for components and critical user journeys.
• Establish and evolve Quality Gates in delivery pipelines.
• Centralize and automate the staging deployment process, ensuring governance without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Ensure deployment traceability, allowing identification of application, version, owner, date/time, pipeline, and result.
• Support investigation of outages and environment issues using logs, metrics, traces, and other evidence.
• Create self-service tools and automations to give developers and QEs greater autonomy.
• Identify manual and recurring activities and turn them into automation or internal engineering products.
• Work closely with Development, Quality Engineering, DevOps/SRE, and Architecture teams.

Requirements

Software Engineering

• Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and integrations.
• Git and development of internal services and tools.

CI/CD and Platform

• Jenkins and/or Azure DevOps.
• Pipelines, GitOps, Docker, and knowledge of Kubernetes.

Observability and Reliability

• Grafana, Dynatrace, and OpenTelemetry.
• Logs, metrics, traces, health checks, SLI/SLO, and troubleshooting.

Quality

• API and E2E automation, integration testing, smoke/regression testing.
• Quality Gates and automated validation strategies.

Work model and location

This role follows a hybrid work model, based in São Paulo, Brazil.
