We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer with solid experience in developing and supporting mission-critical enterprise applications, working in high-availability environments with high transaction volume.
Proficiency in the Java ecosystem is expected, with experience in versions 7, 11, 17, and 25, bringing a consistent view of the platform's evolution and the ability to work on both modernization and legacy system support.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support backend applications in Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and maintain REST APIs.
- Work with monolithic and microservices architectures.
- Implement synchronous and asynchronous integrations.
- Work with messaging and events using Spring Cloud, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
- Actively participate in refinements, technical definitions, and decision-making.
- Interact frequently with Product Owners, Product Managers, Architecture, and Technical Leaders.
- Influence architectural decisions considering context, cost, risk, and business needs.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including SOLID, DDD (Domain-Driven Design), Clean Architecture, and Hexagonal Architecture.
- Ensure code quality with automated testing and observability.
Requirements
- Experience with Java versions 7, 11, 17, and 25.
- Backend development with Spring Boot.
- Building and maintaining REST APIs.
- Experience with monolithic and microservices architectures.
- Knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous integrations.
- Experience with Spring Cloud, Kafka, RabbitMQ, messaging, and events.
- Relational databases: Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- NoSQL databases: MongoDB and DynamoDB.
- Software engineering best practices: SOLID, DDD (Domain-Driven Design), Clean Architecture, and Hexagonal Architecture.
- Knowledge of automated testing, code quality, and observability.
- Experience with CI/CD, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, and Quality Gates.
- Experience with AWS Cloud environments (S3, EC2, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB).
- Experience with Jira.
- Experience with agile methodologies, especially Scrum and Kanban.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of GCP.
- Experience in legacy system modernization.
- Experience in banking or high-criticality environments.
- Knowledge of migration strategies between monoliths and microservices.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and distributed solutions.
- Practical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence to improve productivity and technical quality, with tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and Codex — applied to understanding legacy systems, detailing technical requirements, analyzing solution alternatives, accelerating development, and identifying risks related to security and vulnerabilities.
