COBOL Functional Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a functional professional to work on modernizing a legacy COBOL platform to a modern architecture. The platform is responsible for generating the bank's Income Report, a critical and regulatory process.

The initiative uses AI in reverse engineering of the legacy and adopts the Spec Driven Development model in building the new solution.

Responsibilities

• Validate, from a business perspective, the AI-generated reverse engineering: rules, flows, and behaviors of the current system;
• Structure and maintain functional specifications and business context that guide the construction of the TO-BE solution (Spec Driven);
• Identify and propose business improvements during modernization;
• Act as a bridge between the bank's business areas and the technical team;
• Prioritize the backlog and ensure functional compliance of deliverables.

Requirements

• Knowledge of legacy systems in COBOL and ability to validate business rules, flows, and behaviors;
• Experience in creating and maintaining functional specifications;
• Experience in backlog prioritization and ensuring functional compliance of deliverables;
• Understanding of banking regulatory processes;
• Familiarity with using AI in reverse engineering of legacy systems;
• Knowledge of the Spec Driven Development model.
