Senior COBOL Developer

We are looking for a Senior COBOL Developer to work in a Mainframe environment, contributing to the support and evolution of critical systems.

The professional will be responsible for operating and monitoring batch jobs, analyzing failures, performing technical adjustments, and ensuring the stability of routines, working with essential technologies for large corporate environments.

📍 Work Model: Hybrid

📍 Location: Santo Amaro – São Paulo/SP

📍 On-site: 3x per week

Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor batch jobs in Control-M Mainframe, ensuring SLA compliance;

Analyze and correct failures (abends), performing releases, reprocessing, and job restarts;

Conduct technical investigations on programs to identify causes and execution parameters;

Implement changes in JCLs, COBOL programs, and DB2 (steps, DDs, parameters, datasets, conditionals, and RCs);

Adjust and validate SYSINs and execution parameters;

Perform analysis and maintenance on COBOL/JCL following change management processes.

Requirements:

Solid experience with Control-M Mainframe (dependencies, rerun/restart, and troubleshooting);

Mastery of JCL and SYSIN;

Experience in failure analysis in TSO/ISPF environments;

Knowledge of batch processing, including RC, steps, and datasets (GDG/VSAM);

Experience with development and maintenance in COBOL/DB2;

Knowledge of Mainframe environments and critical routines.

Differentials:

Knowledge of Oracle databases;

Experience with Mainframe utilities (SORT, IDCAMS);

Experience with support tools and change management (e.g., Changeman);

Availability to work in shifts (afternoon/overnight) and on weekends.
