About the role

We are looking for a Mid-Level Developer to develop and evolve a web-based medical image viewer, enabling healthcare professionals to view and analyze imaging studies such as X-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging directly in the browser.

You will work on an innovative project, with challenges in visualization, medical image processing, and web application performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js;
• Integrate the viewer with APIs and backend services;
• Analyze requirements and technical specifications to ensure the feasibility and sustainability of solutions;
• Participate in code reviews and apply development best practices;
• Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks;
• Use artificial intelligence tools to support development, with review and validation of generated code;
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of team processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields;
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript;
• Experience with React;
• Experience with Node.js;
• Knowledge of modern web application development;
• Familiarity with REST APIs and frontend-backend integration;
• Knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows;
• Knowledge of cloud computing on AWS and Google Cloud platforms, including application deployment and operation;
• Experience with AI-assisted development, including vibe coding practices and use of Claude, Codex, and other AI tools for development;
• Ability to understand, review, test, and maintain code produced with AI support, ensuring quality, security, and performance;
• Interest in technology, innovation, and healthcare solutions.

Preferred qualifications

• Having a master's degree or doctorate;
• Knowledge of computer graphics and image processing;
• Experience with graphics visualization or image processing libraries;
• Experience with applications that handle large volumes of data or images;
• Knowledge of the DICOM standard and the medical imaging ecosystem;
• Experience with Redux or other state management solutions.

Work model and location
