Senior Data Scientist position under a PJ (legal entity) arrangement, with 100% remote work. The work is applied data science for product: transforming customer-centric data into intelligent models that improve the user experience and generate measurable value. The role involves direct collaboration with ML, product, engineering, and business teams. The professional will act as an individual contributor in the structural design of data, analyses, experiments, and models within their domain.
Responsibilities
- Conceive, develop, prototype, test, iterate, deploy, and monitor data science and machine learning models for user-facing product solutions, demonstrating measurable business value.
- Build predictive models to anticipate user behavior and needs, identify trends, and optimize offers and product decisions, applying recent AI technologies when they benefit the product.
- Work with the ML team to integrate models into the product, including personalization, recommendations, and user-facing features.
- Analyze large datasets using advanced statistical methods, including causal inference, and turn results into practical recommendations for product improvement.
- Act as an individual contributor in the structural design of data, analyses, experiments, and models within your domain; improve analytical techniques, approaches, and processes.
- Identify high-value analytics opportunities, help define priorities, and collaborate with business teams to develop models with agility.
- Stay current with advances in data science, ML, AI, and relevant trends, and apply them to your work.
Requirements
- Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant experience in data science, statistics, computing, or a related field, with statistical modeling and quantitative and technical analysis.
- English for daily professional communication: understand requirements and directly explain the work to counterparts in the US.
- SQL and Python, including Pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
- Statistical modeling and quantitative analysis, including time series forecasting, logistic regression, and gradient boosting trees.
- Advanced statistical techniques, including causal inference, to interpret data and guide decisions.
- Proficiency in the data science/ML model lifecycle: development, deployment, and maintenance of algorithms actually used, in addition to prototypes.
- Design of analyses, experiments, and models for product challenges.
- Solve open-ended problems with hands-on programming, rapid prototyping, and model iteration.
- Deploy and maintain models in collaboration with ML specialists and product teams.
- Explain complex analyses to audiences at different levels through clear visualizations, accessible conclusions, and actionable recommendations.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in marketplace or e-commerce.
- Keeping up with recent AI technologies applicable to products.
Behavioral competencies
- Autonomy and proactivity, with comfort handling open-ended questions and difficult challenges.
