Backend Developer (Node.js) - Mid/Senior Level

Required Qualifications:

Backend & Architecture

• Solid experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Development and maintenance of scalable RESTful APIs
• Strong command of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Consistent application of SOLID principles and engineering best practices
• Practical experience with Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, or similar
• Knowledge in distributed system design and service integration

Databases

• Modeling and optimization of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
• Experience with ORMs such as Sequelize and/or Drizzle ORM

Testing & Quality

• Writing unit and integration tests, using mocks
• Attention to code testability
• Experience with TDD is considered a plus

Cloud & AWS

• Experience with AWS and Cloud Computing concepts

Messaging & Asynchronous Processing

• Implementation of asynchronous flows and resilience strategies
• Concepts such as retry, DLQ, circuit breaker, and idempotency
• Experience with queues and/or streams (SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.)

DevOps & Engineering

• Participation in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline)
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, or Serverless Framework)
• Use of Git, versioning, and branching patterns (GitFlow or similar)

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with event-driven architectures
• Knowledge or application of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Experience in microservices architecture
• Experience with monitoring and distributed tracing
• Knowledge in security, OWASP, and hardening best practices
• Acting as a technical reference, informal tech lead, or support for technical decisions
• Strong culture of clean code, documentation, and code reviews
• Familiarity with Scrum and/or Kanban

Responsibilities

• Develop medium to high complexity features, integrations, and backend services
• Design, evolve, and maintain APIs and services critical to the business
• Ensure quality, testability, resilience, and observability of deliverables
• Support the modernization or refactoring of legacy components when necessary
• Actively participate in code reviews, contributing to the team's technical evolution
• Suggest and implement improvements in pipelines, processes, and automations
• Ensure technical standardization and best practices across the ecosystem
• Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineers
• Contribute to technical decisions in a collaborative and well-founded manner
• Support and mentor less experienced developers
• Participate in agile ceremonies and promote a culture of continuous improvement
