Senior Backend Developer

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to work on developing and evolving scalable, resilient, and high-performance solutions.

The professional will be responsible not only for implementation, but also for architecture decisions, solution definition, trade-off evaluation, and technical leadership, contributing to the platform's evolution and supporting team development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evolve backend applications using Node.js and REST APIs.
• Design and implement integrations and solutions with asynchronous programming.
• Participate in architecture decisions, considering scalability, performance, security, resilience, and costs.
• Apply Clean Architecture, SOLID, and Design Patterns principles.
• Work in microservices and Serverless-based architectures.
• Develop and maintain solutions using AWS services, such as Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Cognito, and EKS.
• Work with infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Participate in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, deployment and rollback processes, and code quality practices.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and E2E tests, using mocks and coverage strategies.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and MongoDB, considering modeling, indexes, and performance optimization.
• Implement security, authentication, and authorization best practices, using OAuth2, JWT, Cognito, IAM, and secure secrets management.
• Work with observability, including logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alerts, using tools such as CloudWatch, Elastic, Kibana, and Datadog.
• Identify improvement opportunities related to performance, scalability, latency, throughput, resilience, and infrastructure costs.
• Contribute to the evolution of engineering practices using AI and Harness Engineering, including workflow and CI/CD automation, Context Engineering, security, governance, and Guardrails.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and practices, such as Planning, Refinement, Review, and Retrospective, in Scrum or Kanban environments.
• Act as a technical reference for the team, supporting less experienced professionals, providing mentorship, and contributing to the dissemination of best practices.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Backend development in Node.js.
• Experience building and integrating REST APIs.
• Advanced knowledge of software architecture, Clean Architecture, SOLID, and Design Patterns.
• Experience with microservices and/or Serverless architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, especially Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS.
• Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Git/GitFlow, deployment, rollback, and code quality.
• Experience with automated testing at different levels.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including modeling and query optimization.
• Knowledge of application security concepts and practices, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience with observability tools and practices.
• Ability to analyze scenarios, propose solutions, and make technical decisions considering different trade-offs.
• Experience working at a Senior level, with technical leadership and mentorship capabilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes/EKS, pods, and environment management.
• Knowledge of AWS networking, including VPC and public and private networks.
• Experience with Sonar, Quality Gates, and artifact management.
• Knowledge of Harness Engineering, Context Engineering, and Guardrails applied to software development.
• Experience with workflow automation using AI.
• Experience in high-scale environments and distributed systems.
