Junior/Mid-Level QA Automation Analyst – Java + SQL

Job Mission

Ensure the quality, reliability, and stability of applications, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and products. Work collaboratively within agile squads alongside development, product, and other teams, ensuring applications meet functional and business requirements through manual and automated testing, with direct involvement in developing and maintaining test automations.

Model: Hybrid | 2 days per week onsite (Tuesday and Friday) – São Paulo/SP (Faria Lima)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop test scenarios and cases based on requirements and user stories.
• Participate in story refinements with the squad, contributing to the identification of scenarios and risks.
• Plan and execute manual and automated tests, ensuring coverage of requirements and business rules.
• Develop, maintain, and evolve test automation scripts using Java.
• Create and maintain web test automations using Selenium.
• Create and execute REST API tests using tools like RestAssured.
• Apply BDD/Gherkin and Cucumber concepts in scenario automation.
• Create and manage test data sets for test execution.
• Perform SQL queries for data preparation and validation in relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Identify, log, and track defects using tools like Jira.
• Record test evidence and monitor execution results.
• Perform re-testing and regression testing after fixes.
• Support the squad in ensuring the quality of deliverables.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, such as Daily, Planning, Review, and Retrospective.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality processes and practices.
• Support the evolution of the squad's automated test coverage.
• Work closely with developers, analysts, and other team members to ensure the quality of delivered solutions.

Test Automation

• Develop, maintain, and evolve automated tests using Java.
• Create and maintain web test automations using Selenium.
• Develop and execute automated tests for REST APIs using RestAssured.
• Create and maintain automated scenarios using Cucumber, BDD, and Gherkin.
• Use Git/GitHub for version control of code and automation projects.
• Support the evolution of the squad's automated test coverage and efficiency.
• Contribute to identifying scenarios suitable for automation, seeking greater efficiency and reliability in the testing process.
• Work on maintaining and evolving the squad's automated test suite.

Requirements

• Experience with software testing, functional and/or automated.
• Experience or practical knowledge of test automation.
• Basic/intermediate knowledge of Java.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience or knowledge of web test automation using Selenium.
• Knowledge of REST API testing, preferably with RestAssured.
• Knowledge of BDD and writing scenarios using Gherkin.
• Knowledge or experience with Cucumber.
• Knowledge of Git/GitHub.
• Experience with agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Experience with task and defect management tools, such as Jira.
• Basic knowledge of Linux.
• Ability to create test scenarios and cases, execute manual and automated tests, record evidence, and report defects.
• Ability to develop and maintain test automation scripts.

Differentials

• Experience with Cucumber and BDD-based automation.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and integrating automated tests into pipelines.
• Knowledge of AWS, especially Cognito.
• Experience with load testing using JMeter.
• Knowledge of monitoring with Grafana.
