Quem \u00e9 esse tal <strong>JSON<\/strong>?<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">O que \u00e9 JSON?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">O <em>JSON<\/em> (<em>JavaScript Object Notation<\/em>) \u00e9 um formato leve de troca de informa\u00e7\u00f5es entre sistemas, principalmente por meio de <em>APIs Rest<\/em>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Por ser muito leve e f\u00e1cil de ler, o<em> JSON<\/em> \u00e9 amplamente utilizado por aplica\u00e7\u00f5es web. Sua capacidade de estruturar informa\u00e7\u00f5es de maneira compacta \u00e9 uma caracter\u00edstica fundamental que o leva a ser adotado por grandes empresas como <strong>Google<\/strong> e<strong> Yahoo<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Devido a essa grande popularidade, o<em> JSON <\/em>j\u00e1 se tornou quase um pr\u00e9-requisito para qualquer programador. Toda pessoa que trabalha ou deseja trabalhar como desenvolvedor de <em>softwares<\/em> precisa entender o que ele \u00e9 e como funciona.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uma confus\u00e3o muito comum que se faz \u00e9 assumir que, por ser um formato de representa\u00e7\u00e3o de dados que se baseia em<strong> JavaScript<\/strong>, o <em>JSON<\/em> s\u00f3 pode ser usado com essa linguagem. Contudo, sua popularidade realmente diminuiu bastante, muito pelo sucesso de outra linguagem: o\u00a0<\/span><strong><i>JavaScript<\/i>.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">O JS \u00e9 quase uma unanimidade no mundo web, que basicamente movimenta nosso padr\u00e3o de vida atual. Quem vive hoje em dia sem visitar um site, acessar o WhatsApp ou visitar seu perfil do Facebook?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Com a presen\u00e7a massiva da internet em nosso cotidiano, precisamos acessar informa\u00e7\u00f5es de forma r\u00e1pida e eficiente, e \u00e9 a\u00ed que entra a linguagem.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Por ser leve e flex\u00edvel<\/strong>, o JavaScript \u00e9 usado em in\u00fameros sites, seja no lado do cliente ou do servidor, com o Node.js.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Com tanta fama, <strong>o JSON<\/strong> (ou <em>JavaScript Object Notation<\/em>) acabou se tornando uma escolha natural (e prefer\u00edvel) para assumir a vaga, por ser um formato desenvolvido a partir da linguagem \u2013 consequentemente, sua interoperabilidade com o JS \u00e9 a melhor poss\u00edvel.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c9 por isso que o tema de hoje \u00e9 <strong>XML vs JSON<\/strong>.\u00a0A efic\u00e1cia comprovada do <strong>XML<\/strong>, ou a tecnologia crescente do <strong>JSON<\/strong>? \u00c9 o que veremos a seguir.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Em <strong>2011<\/strong>, <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">20% das novas APIs usavam apenas JSON<\/span><\/strong>, um n\u00famero que certamente aumentou de l\u00e1 pra c\u00e1. Afinal, depois de tantos anos na hegemonia, uma comunidade inteira n\u00e3o desaparece da noite pro dia, n\u00e3o \u00e9? <\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Suas tecnologias tamb\u00e9m s\u00e3o bem consolidadas, a exemplo dos pr\u00f3prios <\/span><strong><i>Schemas<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> que, com o uso dos <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">namespaces<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, ainda s\u00e3o uma ferramenta bem poderosa na hora da implementa\u00e7\u00e3o. <\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eles s\u00e3o excelentes, por exemplo, em resolver conflitos causados por diversas aplica\u00e7\u00f5es. Claro, o <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">JSON<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> possui uma alternativa: o <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/json-ld.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (abre numa nova aba)\">JSON-LD<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> pode ajudar em algumas ocasi\u00f5es, mas o <\/span><strong><i>XML<\/i> ainda parece ser uma prefer\u00eancia em casos complexos.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No entanto<strong>, o principal destaque do XML (e que nem o <i>JSON-LD<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong> consegue aliviar completamente) s\u00e3o os metadados<\/strong>. O poder da linguagem est\u00e1 justamente na capacidade de guardar ou vincular dados em qualquer formato, gra\u00e7as \u00e0 liberdade dada ao usu\u00e1rio de definir suas marca\u00e7\u00f5es. <\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assim, uma das formas \u00e9 usar atributos a fim de definir metadados, tipo um identificador \u00fanico ou um tipo definido pelo desenvolvedor a um objeto, por exemplo. Isso influencia diretamente os pr\u00f3prios aspectos j\u00e1 citados em que ela leva vantagem, como legibilidade e performance.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ambos os lados alegam que suas partes s\u00e3o mais f\u00e1ceis de entender, e eles n\u00e3o est\u00e3o errados.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No caso de um n\u00famero baixo de dados, o JSON e seu pareamento chave-valor torna claro o objeto a ser tratado, por\u00e9m, quando come\u00e7amos a perceber um grande volume de valores complexos, a estrutura em \u00e1rvore do XML, embora cheia de palavras e repeti\u00e7\u00f5es, torna as coisas menos dif\u00edceis de entender, em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com a infinidade de chaves e par\u00eanteses que o JSON precisaria ao denotar a mesma situa\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nesse caso, a pr\u00f3pria <strong>compress\u00e3o dos arquivos<\/strong> (e seu consequente peso na transmiss\u00e3o dos dados) tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 afetada. Um estudo feito por <strong>David Lee<\/strong>, engenheiro l\u00edder na Marklogic, e publicado pelo consultor de TI <strong>Jan Stenberg<\/strong> no site <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.infoq.com\/br\/news\/2013\/11\/xml-json-performance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (abre numa nova aba)\">InfoQ Brasil<\/a><\/strong><\/span> levou a conclus\u00f5es interessantes:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A velocidade de an\u00e1lise (parsing) varia de acordo com a t\u00e9cnica usada. A an\u00e1lise com JavaScript puro \u00e9 mais r\u00e1pida para XML do que para o JSON, enquanto a consulta \u00e9 normalmente mais r\u00e1pida para o JSON. Ambos apresentando exce\u00e7\u00f5es, em que o contr\u00e1rio \u00e9 verdadeiro;<\/span><\/em><\/li>\r\n<li><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O uso da biblioteca JavaScript jQuery imp\u00f5e uma penalidade exagerada para o JSON, e pior ainda para o XML;<\/span><\/em><\/li>\r\n<li><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Documentos compactados em todos os formatos, mesmo representa\u00e7\u00f5es muito grandes em JSON ou XML apresentam tamanho id\u00eantico ap\u00f3s a compress\u00e3o, o que indica que ambos possuem o mesmo conte\u00fado de informa\u00e7\u00e3o;<\/span><\/em><\/li>\r\n<li><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A transfer\u00eancia de documentos para uma grande variedade de dispositivos leva efetivamente o mesmo tempo em cada dispositivo, independentemente do formato adotado (XML ou JSON).<\/span><\/em><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Outro a fazer essa compara\u00e7\u00e3o de desempenho, com foco em Web APIs, foi o brasileiro Nickolas Silva<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
