Senior DevOps

The mission of Leaf is to empower developers in the food and agriculture sectors by providing data-friendly infrastructure and agricultural services.

Developers use the Leaf API to access standardized and aggregated agricultural data from all major industry brands, enabling them to launch better products faster.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, operation, and evolution of the API platform and cloud services (with a strong focus on AWS), ensuring availability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Travis, CircleCI, GitHub Actions/GitLab CI) for applications and infrastructure.
• Automate infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation/CDK), including networking (VPC), security (IAM/KMS/Secrets), observability, and scalability.
• Implement end-to-end observability (logs, metrics, traces; SLIs/SLOs; alerts) and lead incident response and postmortems.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to prioritize requirements, ensure quality, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement (runbooks/playbooks).

Skills and Qualifications

• Intermediate or advanced English to interact with the international team.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Production experience with microservices and serverless architectures.
• Programming skills, especially in Java and scripting languages (Python, Go, Node.js).
• Advanced AWS expertise: IAM, VPC, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, CloudWatch/CloudTrail, KMS, Secrets Manager, SQS/SNS, Step Functions.
• Solid foundation in Linux, networking, containers (Docker), Kubernetes, Git, and security best practices (least privilege, secret rotation).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and infrastructure testing (e.g., Terratest, policy-as-code).
• Practical experience with CI/CD tools (Travis, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Argo CD/Flux).
• Experience with observability tools: Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry.

Desirable Qualifications

• Familiarity with Kanban and trunk-based development.
• Multicloud experience, with practical knowledge in:
  • Azure (AKS, Functions, ACR, AAD, Monitor)
  • GCP (GKE, Cloud Run, IAM, Cloud Build, Cloud Logging)
• Knowledge in security and compliance: CIS Benchmarks, secret/key management, backup/DR, WAF.
• Knowledge in databases and messaging: RDS/Aurora, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka/RabbitMQ.
• Desired certifications:
  • AWS DevOps Engineer / Solutions Architect (Professional)
  • AZ-104 / AZ-400
  • GCP PCA / PCD
